NATO is stepping up its strikes on Sirte

The NATO forces have intensified their pressure Tuesday against forces loyal to Colonel Muammar Gaddafi in his hometown of Sirte.

According to a statement provided by the NATO allies have destroyed 22 vehicles with weapons, four cameras, three command centers, a system of anti-aircraft battery, a system of surface to air missile, two military and supply vehicles around a barracks during the Sirte on Monday alone.

The city of Sirte, 360 km east of Tripoli, is regularly referred to by NATO since the beginning of operations March 19 but the Alliance seems to have strengthened its position to strike at the rebel advance toward the bastion of Muammar Gaddafi, who was born in this region and could have taken refuge.
